Nashville to hear some great songwriters in action.

This is also a guide for songwriters of the best places to play your songs to get an honest opinion of your

songwriting skills.

These clubs are where you can test your new songs.

First make your arrangements with the owners, or whoever is hosting the event, and always check the night of the show to ensure you are scheduled to play.

Broken Spoke Saloon

For more than a decade the Broken Spoke/Songwriter's Cafe, located inside the Ramada Inn, has been a cornerstone of the songwriter scene,

Open for songwriter rounds on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights, but calling ahead is recommended.

Edgehill Studios Cafe

Singer/songwriters from the country music industry along with veterans perform several nights a week. It's a popular place because it's close enough to Music Row that you never know when a big name might drop in for a drink or a song.

Puckett's Grocery

Founded by the Puckett family in the 1950s, Puckett's first served as a country store to the Leiper's Fork community and has always been the place to buy some food, grab a good homemade sandwich and catch up on the day's events in the world and at home. But in recent years, Puckett's has branched out to start a formal dinner and music program and it includes plenty of talented writers in and around town.
