NashvilleEar.com has been accepted by songwriters and performers with a love for songwriters' music. Nashville Ear is a venue for songwriters to get their music out on the Internet to gain exposure. We want to help you get your music noticed.

I have had several skeptical questions about how this service can be free.

I assure you I have only one thing I want out of this venture. I want to help songwriters in their quest to get their music out to the world.

(And get to meet some really nice people.)

For the past 15 years or so Nashville OnStage TV show has helped hundreds of performers and songwriters by having them come to

Nashville and perform Live OnStage at the Preston Hotel.

Ernie Simms taped the shows video and audio then put them on Public TV and never charged anyone for being on the show .

His selfless attitude was an inspiration for me. He was also my friend.

Ernie used to say that everyone in the music business needs a break sometime.

He is no longer with us but his vision is still alive.

The video link below is what Ernie used to do to help the songwriters and performers ...

Nashville OnStage TV show

I promised him to continue his work and keep it free to the songwriters. We both thought there should be someone trying to help the new songwriters and artists get their start without getting in their pockets.

There are enough professional music industry folks who will help you part with your cash. I am building my Karma Bank by helping the songwriters,

without asking for money.

I seem to always receive more from the songwriters than I have given.

I had a guy ask me if I were one of those sharks here in Nashville.

Here is what I wrote back in an email

The reason I do what I do is because of those sharks.

I used to hang out with my good friend Ernie Simms. Ernie Simms had a show called Nashville Onstage for many years. Go to YouTube.com and look for some shows. There are still a few out there I think.

Ernie died a few years ago but before he went I promised him to keep his vision alive. We were trying to help the new talent who come to Nashville. Ernie used to say everyone needs a break now and then.

I know several of those sharks here in town, I grew up here, I know how they work and it makes me sick.

They prey on people who have that burning dream of being a country music star. They get you with making expensive demos first, then they have you come to Nashville (and of course bring your family) for star searching shows that you were invited to because your "demo was so good".

You pay ($300 to $500) for the opportunity to play in the show on stage in Nashville with 30 others just like you. You are told that there "may be" some Nashville music producers in the crowd.

With family members and performers there are about 100 to 150 people in the hotel ballroom rented for the show. You leave "Ohio"( just pick any town or state ) to go to Nashville to sing live on stage. You tell all your buddies and co-workers that you are on your way to Nashville.

Everyone is excited and wishes you well.

Nashville is a fantastic city and there are hundreds of things to do so the entire family has a good time on the trip. I am not telling you not to come to Nashville. PLEASE do come visit us. I love this city and it is probably the best tourist town in America.

Please do come visit the Grand Ole Opry and catch our live music shows all over Nashville.
When you are getting ready to come to Nashville check out this website:

Everyone who sings and plays in the show wins a trophy (like the new "Up and Coming Star Award" or the "New Horizon Award") and everyone in the crowd there supports the others because they are all family members of each other.

You go back to "Ohio" with a trophy that you won in Nashville singing and playing your music on stage and put it on the fireplace mantle. Your heart is swollen with pride and your neighbors come by to look at it.

You are a local gossip hero to the guys at the VFW. Your aunt and uncle talk about their nephew and his singing ability in Nashville. Oh yeah, each family member pays ($25 to $50) to attend the show. This is just one scam, there a many more.

The guys/sharks who do this say that everyone is a winner. The person who came to the show had a good time and now has bragging rights and a trophy for the living room. The family had a good time because Nashville is a fantastic tourist town with many family things to do, and they got to see their family member sing live in front of a large cheering crowd.

I guess you could say that it is true that everyone wins in this situation...

I just hate to see someone pay to sing and family members pay to listen.

Another questionable tactic is:

You sign a contract with a small independent record company with a Nashville business address. This contract will basically give you bragging rights to your friends at home.

You have signed a Recording Contract in Nashville!

You pay the independent record company to help promote your songs and CD. This can cost as much as you are are willing to give for the promotion. This company will also help you make a new better Demo CD to make it BIG this time. Just how much is it worth to you to make it big in the music business???

It takes money to make money right???

I am doing what I can to help the new guys get into the business. Without getting into their pockets.

This is just a calling for me that I love to do.

I meet the nicest people and sometimes, I help their songs get noticed.

I am a firm believer in Karma.

I have seen it work hundreds of times in my life.

I hope this explains what I do and why.
